February 13th - March 2nd

Okay, sorry about not following the name of this blog for the last two weeks but the Olympics here in Vancouver was taking up all my time and even though I was taking pictures daily I just didn't seem to have the time to update daily.

What a wild ride and an amazing time to be in Vancouver and in Canada. I have never seen anything like this in Vancouver before and am very proud to be Canadian and thrilled to have been living here to witness this. So here are a selection of pics from the last two weeks of the games.

Included are a series of pictures of the Vectorial Lights which were beams of light on either side of English Bay and their movement was controlled by online users around the world. It was amazing to see every night of the Games.

Another great people watching spot and photo op in Vancouver is on Hornby Street next to the art gallery. All sorts sit in the shade and play chess. They are so absorbed in the game that you can snap away without dirty looks or the occasional "stop taking my picture." The young boy in the third photo was a talented player and tough to beat.
